Learn all the skills you need to build modern, dynamic web apps. Web Development is the most in-demand skill in the IT field, and Welles School will teach you everything you need to know to land your first web developer job. You'll learn about both frontend and backend programming using JavaScript, and develop a host of beautiful and powerful apps to create a portfolio for your future employers. Expect to study hard - you'll be coding from 10AM-6PM on Monday to Friday, with optional sessions on the weekend.

What You'll Learn Over twelve weeks, you'll learn a lot. You'll be coding every day, all day. Here we've broken down some of the main concepts you'll be learning. For more information, apply today, and we'll send you a detailed syllabus of all that you'll learn.

  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • ES6
  • Asynchronous Programming
  • Git

In this first module, you'll be introduced to the basics of web programming that you'll rely on throughout your course and your career. We start with HTML/CSS, the static languages that define the web, but then quickly move onto the hard stuff: JavaScript. In a Welles School-exclusive approach, we take the time to teach you Vanilla JavaScript, meaning JavaScript without any frameworks, to strengthen your fundamental understanding.

02 FRONTEND: REACT Components, Props, State

  • React Hooks
  • React Router
  • Redux: Stores, Actions, Reducers
  • Functional and Class-based Components

React is the most popular frontend web framework today. So, you will learn React, because you want to learn what companies are hiring for! We'll start with explaining the basics of how React defines Components, with Props and State to build modular user interfaces, in addition with Hooks, a recent and popular addition to React. You'll use these concepts to build apps that call APIs, route users to pages using React Router, and keep all that data together using Redux.

  • NodeJS
  • Rest APIs
  • JWT Authentication
  • Mongoose
  • Database Schema
  • NoSQL

After six weeks of heavy JavaScript action, we shift our attention to the backend, where you'll now apply your strong JavaScript skills to the backend. Together with Express, and MongoDB, you'll learn how to build the backend for your full-featured web applications. You'll learn how to design databases, implement user authentication with Google/Facebook, and much more.
