CRYPTO AIRDROP AND CRYPTO DUSTING - SPAM OR MARKETING CAMPAIGN

  • Crypto AirDrop and Crypto Dusting can be viewed as spam but as well as legal marketing campaigns. From spam to service where users willingly subscribe to get free coins & tokens…

    What are Crypto Airdrops?

In it’s concept of an airdrop is easy to explain. It involves a business “dropping” small amounts of free crypto to a group of individual wallets. To participate in an airdrop you should register for it either through a google form, a Telegram bot, or directly on a project’s website. Also like most standard online campaigns, an airdrop campaign will often offer the chance to get additional tokens for referring others via a unique link. The referral system creates an incentive to share the airdrop with as many people as possible.

    What is Crypto dusting?

Crypto Dust concept to air drops idea is to send to users of crypto (Bitcoin,Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash) small amounts of coins and to attach your promotional message to it. It’s less capable than Airdrop because in dusting case you get only free BTC’s as of now promotion message is public (in future that might change). Idea of both marketing campaigns is the same to share promotional message and give free tokens/coins to targeted crypto audience.

What are the Points of Airdrop and Drypto dusting?

    Airdrops:

There are two main reasons blockchain startups and other projects would hold an airdrop.
The First Reason: is to generate publicity for an upcoming ICO or token sale. Airdrops are often the first phase of a more extensive marketing campaign. They can be useful in generating initial buzz around a project. The referral bonuses also motivates people to spread the word, which generates more low-cost advertising.
The Second Reason: an airdrop is an excellent way to build a community around a project, even if not holding an ICO. I’ve seen many community-based and non-profit crypto projects use the airdrop model as a way of building awareness of their goals.

    Cryptodusting:

Has same purpose and approach just a delivery method is different and requires to read transaction code or software to read it.

    When spam becomes a Marketing?

Let’s look at the definitions of spamming and marketing:
    Spamming:
Spamming is a practice whereby companies acquire an extensive list of random email contacts and then assault these contacts with unwanted information about their products and services. Spammers operate in the hope that at least some of these random contacts will be interested in the services they are offering. However, spamming is a highly uneconomical and hugely ineffective practice because it does not differentiate between recipients that are likely to be interested in the advertisement and those that are not. Spam most often comes from an email address that is not real and does not accept replies. Spamming is an illegal practice that, at best will irritate people, and, at worst, is likely to earn your company penalties

    Marketing:
Online marketing techniques differ from spamming in several important ways. The most significant difference between spam and online marketing emails is that they are sent with the recipient’s permission. All of the contacts used in online marketing campaigns have knowingly signed up on a company website to receive information about specific products and services that are relevant to their needs and interests. Online marketing communications are usually sent from legitimate email addresses and are sent to a small and specific group of contacts. Unlike spamming, online marketing is a legal and very effective method of promotion because it targets individuals personally according to the products and services they have expressed an interest in.

CRYPTO AIRDROP and CRYPTO DUSTING are here to stay

Despite the caveats mentioned above, airdrops and cryptodusting are a fun way of getting into cryptocurrency and finding out about new blockchain projects.

Crypto Airdrop and Crypto Dusting campaign hints:
    1. 1. Ensure that campaigns are designed in a way to convey valuable information,
    2. 2. Campaigns need to have a personal tone to customers,
    3. 3. Campaigns information should be sent only to individuals who have expressed an interest in it, and
    4. 4. Campaigns should provide relevant information in a timely and appropriate manner.
Marketing campaign should care for targeted customers feelings and not to make them mad and like spam does, it need to treat customers with the respect and courtesy that they deserve to receive.

To facilitate this there are new APP’s being processed for airdrops it’s like Airwallet AIRWALLET and for crypto dusting there are no wallets that support it but in future something will be developed.

    Stay tuned!
